An Evening With Bobby Orozco
Composer and Pianist
About the artist:
A native of Bridge City, Orozco began studying piano at a young age under private instructor Ann Bryant. His early training sparked a lifelong dedication to music that led him to pursue formal studies at Lamar University, where he studied under pianist Dr. Richard Dowling and immersed himself in classical repertoire and composition.
Over time, Orozco’s artistic voice expanded beyond traditional classical foundations. Influenced by the expressive depth of the cello, he began incorporating its melodic richness and emotional resonance into his piano compositions. The result is a distinctive sound that blends classical elegance with contemporary expression.
Now based in Plano, Texas, Orozco continues to compose and perform works that invite reflection and connection. Bridge City Natives pays tribute to his Southeast Texas roots while showcasing the evolution of his musical journey.
The Oct. 3 performance will feature selections from the new album, along with additional original works. Orozco will be joined by cellist Kathleen Odom, whose performance will further highlight the album’s rich textures. The evening will also include live painting by artist Ashley Berryman, creating a visual interpretation of the music in real time and offering audiences a multidimensional artistic experience.
