DESCRIPTION:Boys’ Haven is proud to announce our 38th Annual Crawfish Festival\, Saturday\, May 6\, 2023\, from 10:00 am. to 6:00p.m. which will be held at a new location\, The Event Centre on the Great Lawn\, located at 700 Crockett St. in downtown Beaumont. \nThis years’ festival will have a variety of music from Zydeco\, Country\, Texas Rock and Oldies\, but Goodies. Since 1985\, the Crawfish Festival has been the primary fundraiser for Boys’ Haven\, and we hope you will join us this year for a day of great food\, music\, and entertainment.\nFor 78 years\, Boys’ Haven has been the mainstay in Southeast Texas for providing services to boys in need. Young men and boys are placed here from our local area as well as the entire state of Texas by the Department of Family and Protective Services. Boys’ Haven provides the structure needed that many of the families of the young men cannot.

DESCRIPTION:Arc of Greater Beaumont Buddy Walk\nSaturday\, October 27\nThe Great Lawn \nThe Buddy Walk® was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. Today\, the Buddy Walk program is supported nationally by NDSS and organized at the local level by parent support groups\, schools and other organizations and individuals. \nOver the past sixteen years\, the Buddy Walk program has grown from 17 walks to nearly 300 expected in 2011 across the country and around the world. Last year alone\, 285\,000 people participated in a Buddy Walk! They raised more than $11.2 million to benefit local programs and services as well as the national advocacy initiatives that benefit all individuals with Down syndrome. \nThe Buddy Walk is a one-mile walk in which anyone can participate without special training. It is an inspirational and educational event that celebrates the many abilities and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome.
