DESCRIPTION:The City of Beaumont will host its 9th Annual Oktoberfest\, on Saturday\, October 5\, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Rogers Park.  The City of Beaumont Oktoberfest is a family favorite among citizens\, offering polka and live music\, local food trucks and a large beer garden.\n\nGet the FESTIVAL MAP here!\n\nEVENT FEATURES\nHeadlining this year’s event\, Houston natives The Suffers\, whose name is a reference to the 1978 Jamaican film Rockers starring Leroy “Horsemouth” Wallace\, Jacob Miller and BurningSpear\, among others. The group has been on a steady grind since 2011 with a contagious and combustible energy every time the eight-piece band steps on the scene. Following The Suffers’ electrifying late night TV debut on Letterman in 2015\, David Letterman exclaimed\, “If you can’t do this\, get out of the business!”\n\nThe event will feature live performances by The Golden Triangle Brass Quintet as well as music from local favorite Ole Lonesome. Enjoy a selection of craft and German Oktoberfest-style beers at the large beer garden. Admission to the event is free and open to the public.\n\nThe City of Beaumont is excited to announce the return of the family fun addition to the annual festival\, Kid-toberfest! This exciting feature will include family friendly live entertainment along with local treat trucks\, a petting zoo\, free face painting\, and children’s activities.\n\n\nGATE INFORMATION\nAttendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Outside alcohol is prohibited\, but a selection of wine and Oktoberfest style beers will be available for purchase.   To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees\, security checks will be in place at all three entrance gates. These measures include bag and cooler checks\, which will be conducted as part of the entry process. To keep the energy up throughout the day\, So Hype DJs will be spinning crowd favorites for all to enjoy! The highlight of the evening will conclude with the largest fireworks display in Southeast Texas. This spectacular show promises to captivate attendees with a dazzling display of lights and colors. \n\n\nAdmission to this annual event is free. Con Funk Shun’s infectious rhythms and soulful beats are sure to captivate the crowd! Koray Broussard and the Zydeco Unit will be the perfect start to kick off the celebration. Get your body grooving with the SETX Linesteppers who will sure to get the party started! Local favorite\, DJ Erik Tee\, will be the emcee for the event\, and is sure to keep the crowd energized. Local artist\, AaRahn Stewart\, will be commemorating the event by singing the Black National Anthem. Featuring a performance from JONATHAN WILLIAMS CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS.
