DESCRIPTION:BMT Film Fest kicks off Monday\, August 5 at the Jefferson Theatre featuring guest speaker Beaumont native Jesse Dayton is notable for his collaborations with horror film director Rob Zombie\, who commissioned Jesse on multiple occasions to record music to accompany his films such as Halloween 2.  \nAll films shown through August 9th will open doors at 6pm and admission is $5.  \n We will be giving out FREE popcorn and FREE beer tastings featuring Austin Eastciders\, Rahr and Sons Brewing\, B & V Spiked Seltzer\, Saint Arnold Brewing\, Ultra Pure Gold\, Karbach\, and Crying Eagle Brewing. The Italian film 8 1/2 will start at 7:30p. \nTickets can be purchased at the door or in advance from the Beaumont Civic Center Box Office\, open Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. \nThe Jefferson Theatre will host a week of critically-acclaimed foreign film screenings leading up to the festival. The selected films will expose viewers to cinematic gems from across the world and offer them the opportunity to gain a broader sense of international artistic visions. Screenings will begin at 7:30 p.m. with doors to the theatre opening at 6:00 p.m. The BMT Film Fest will screen the following foreign films: \n· August 5: 8½ (d. Federico Fellini\, 1963) \n· August 6: Seven Samurai (d. Akira Kurosawa\, 1954) \n· August 7: Motorcycle Diaries (d. Walter Salles\, 2004) \n· August 8: Metropolis (d. Fritz Lang\, 1927) \n· August 9: Cinema Paradiso (d. Giuseppe Tornatore\, 1988) \nOn Saturday\, August 10\, the BMT Film Fest will screen several feature films and documentaries\, short films\, animated features and student films. Doors open at 11:30am. Screenings will begin at 12:00 p.m. with award presentations at 6:00 p.m. The evening will conclude with a screening of “Not Me\,” the latest from Lamar University film professor Mahmoud Salimi. The film is Salimi’s eleventh film as a director and has received global accolades since its release
