| FreeThe City of Beaumont is proud to announce its annual Juneteenth Celebration, taking place on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 4:00 p.m.– 9:00 p.m. in Downtown Beaumont. This event offers exciting live entertainment, cultural performances, and community engagement as we honor the history and significance of Juneteenth.
This annual event promises a spectacular display of live music and entertainment featuring a headlining performance from iconic R&B funk group, Con Funk Shun, best known for their popular hits like “Shake and Dance with Me” and “Love’s Train”. Con Funk Shun’s infectious rhythms and soulful beats are sure to captivate the crowd! Koray Broussard and the Zydeco Unit will be the perfect start to kick off the celebration. Get your body grooving with the SETX Linesteppers who will sure to get the party started! Local favorite, DJ Erik Tee, will be the emcee for the event, and is sure to keep the crowd energized. Local artist, AaRahn Stewart, will be commemorating the event by singing the Black National Anthem. Featuring a performance from JONATHAN WILLIAMS CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS. With a blend of music, dance, and other entertainment, this event promises to be a memorable experience for all.
The City of Beaumont Recreation Department is excited to bring back the 12 and under Free Throw Competition, with fantastic prizes waiting for 1st and 2nd place winners. Registration for the competition will take place at the event, and it is free to enter. This is a fantastic chance for young basketball enthusiasts to showcase their skills and compete for fun.
A variety of food trucks will be on Main Street, serving delicious cuisine to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and picnic blankets to relax between the Julie Rogers Theatre and the Main Library. In addition to lounging in the shade, a cooling tent will be available for patrons to escape the heat.
Tents, canopies, and pets will not be permitted. Barbecue pits and other cooking equipment are not allowed on the event grounds unless the individual is an approved and pre-permitted vendor. All vendors and booths must be pre-registered to participate in the event.
Admission is free and open to the public, and we encourage everyone to bring their friends and family!
